Hip to be Square: Block Printing on Fabric Workshop
June 29  |  10 AM – 1 PM

Inspired by the exhibition “Form, Not Function: Quilt Art at the Carnegie” artist Elizabeth Foley will lead Hip to be Square, a block printing workshop on Saturday, June 29, 2019, from 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM. This workshop will take place at Carnegie Center for Art and History and is limited to 15 adults (18 and older). Registration is required, free to members and $20 for non-members. 

Elizabeth Foley is an accomplished award-winning printmaker and practicing artist. In this workshop, make printed designs on cotton and paper on a square format. Foley will discuss mixing color and creating patterns. Foley earned her BFA in graphic design from Washington University in St. Louis and an MFA in printmaking and an M.Ed in secondary education from Ohio University. Foley is a practicing artist known for her one-of-a-kind, colorful abstract prints created through relief, monoprint, and collagraph techniques. The artist lives in Louisville, KY and was a cohort of the 2017-2018 Hadley Creatives Program.
