Project: Salt dough nature prints

(this makes about 4 “fists” of play dough, so it’s probably enough for sharing)
Supplies:
• 2 tbsp oil
• 1 cup salt
• 3/4 cup water
• 2 cups flour
• food coloring (optional)
• collection of natural objects like leaves, flowers, pinecones, stems, etc. The more variety, the better!
• mixing bowl and spoon
• clean dry surface for dough
• plastic wrap
• if your kids don’t like to get messy, keep wipes or a clean bowl of water nearby
• rolling pin or large bowl with undecorated surface to flatten dough
• pam (optional in case dough dries out, can also double as rolling pin!)
• watercolor paint for undied dough (for after class)
• preheat oven to 200 degrees (to bake dough for keepsakes)

Pre-K Storytime and Art Adventures with Ms. Eileen happen Tuesdays at 10:00 AM Live via Zoom! Each class features one book and one art activity led live by Carnegie Director Ms. Eileen. Classes are limited to 10 families. Projects are best for ages 4-5 with accompanying adult, but older and younger children in the household are welcome to participate.
