Art History Illustrated: “Future History: The Top Art News Stories of the Year”
Thursday, December 15, 2022
6:30-7:30 PM
What will future art historians talk about? In this talk, art historian Brenda Edgar will recap all of the most important art-related news of 2022. Come close out the year by revisiting its important archaeological discoveries, repatriation debates, record-setting auctions, sensational conservations, trends in style and iconography, and blockbuster exhibitions! We’ll also honor the lives and works of artists whom we’ve lost this year. Then, we’ll open the floor for a discussion about which of these stories we think will still be considered noteworthy 50 or 100 years from now.
Join us for our “Art History Illustrated” talk series, held the third Thursday of every month at 6:30 p.m. This monthly illustrated talk series is presented by art historian Brenda Edgar, in collaboration with the Carnegie Center for Art and History.
