5:30 p.m. – 7 p.m.

Carnegie Center Meeting Room

Open Studio is a monthly artmaking program on the fourth Thursday of the month from 5:30 pm to 7 pm. Join us at the Carnegie Center for Art and History for independently-led artmaking inspired by art on view in the galleries. Registration is encouraged but drop-ins are welcome.

This month’s Open Studio will feature clay animals inspired by the symbolism in The Underground Railroad: The Still Family & Charles Nalle. Symbolism is used throughout art history to help viewers gain a deeper understanding of what they see. You may be familiar with how a skull reflects mortality. Mark Priest continues this tradition of symbolism in his inclusion of crows. The Carnegie invites you to create your own animals with molds and clay!
