December 21, 2019 – February 22, 2020

#IAmPublicArt 2019 is an exhibition that celebrates the art and festivities of the Carnegie Center’s popular annual art festival. The Carnegie will showcase the murals created live at the event by David Thrasher and Ashley Brossart, as well as a series of tintypes made by River City Tintypes featuring festival attendees and custom prints from Calliope Arts Printmaking Studio. See photo documentation of one of the region’s only completely free, hands-on art-making experience, and even participate in the activities.  This exhibition is on view December 21, 2019-February 22, 2020 in the Sally Newkirk Gallery.

More than 750 people attended the festival, sponsored by the Rotary Club of New Albany and the Rotary Foundation, on October 5, 2019. #IAmPublicArt brings together the community to celebrate the artistic process by witnessing artists in action, learning about new art methods, and participating in hands-on art and music making.
